The Library

March 7, 2008

Have you ever noticed that librarians are really trusting? It’s like they don’t listen to the news at all. They must always have their head stuck in a book that doesn’t mention the current state of the world. They let you come into the library and fill out a little 3×5 card with minimal information and then leave with as many books and movies as you can carry.

If I were a librarian (which will never happen because it takes a bajillion years of college above and beyond the basic four) I would not let anyone leave with a book. I would tell them that after they washed their hands they could sit QUIETLY at one of the tables and read it. And I would also make them promise not to mess up the book and to return it to the shelf they got it from. After all, who wants to spend all day refiling all those books, especially if you have all those years of college.
